Where our data comes from
Last updated June 2026
DistrictIQ brings public real-estate and education data into one place. Here is the source, licence and refresh cadence behind every figure on the site.
Listings (MLS® / IDX)
Active homes for sale and lease are sourced from MLS® through the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) and PropTx under the Internet Data Exchange (IDX) program, and refresh about every 15 minutes.
Listing data is deemed reliable but is not guaranteed accurate by TRREB, PropTx, CREA or DistrictIQ, may not reflect the most current status, and should be independently verified with the listing brokerage. The REALTOR® and MLS® trademarks are owned by CREA and used under licence.
Schools and assessments
School profiles and assessment results are sourced from the Ontario Ministry of Education, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO), Ontario Open Data, and the applicable public and Catholic district school boards across the regions we cover. EQAO results shown reflect the 2024–2025 assessment.
School information is provided for general information only and may be inaccurate or out of date. How we turn these results into the EQAO composite and benchmarks is described in our methodology.
School catchments
Catchment boundaries come from the school boards' own published attendance-area data — in Halton, the Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic District School Board — and are verified against the boards' official school locators before publishing.
Verified catchments are available today for the four Halton cities (Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills), with coverage expanding across Peel and Hamilton. Boundaries and eligibility can change at any time — always confirm directly with the school board.
Neighbourhood and market statistics
Median price, inventory, days-on-market, property mix and neighbourhood descriptors are aggregated by DistrictIQ from active TRREB / PropTx MLS® listings at the time shown. They reflect list-price activity, not sold data, are not an appraisal or opinion of value, and change as listings change.
Coverage and freshness
DistrictIQ currently covers 8 cities across the Halton, Peel and Hamilton regions of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Listings refresh roughly every 15 minutes; school, assessment and catchment data is updated as the boards and EQAO publish it.
